Sherbourn
established very specific goals upon commencing
the design stage of the new Sherbourn 5/1500 200
watt / 8 ohm : 300 watts / 4 ohm Mono Block
Amplifier. Firstly, the goal was to engineer a
mono block amplifier that would perform
accurately in a listening room and that would
measure equally accurately on a test bench. |
Secondly,
to design and engineer an amplifier that would
drive all kinds of loads - resistive, inductive
or capacitive with a consistent performance over
the entire audio bandwidth. Thirdly, to design an
amplifier that would excel for safety in terms of
its thermal performance and in the efficient use
of its power so as to not generate excessive
heat. The final goal was to produce a mono block
amplifier that could be grouped onto one single
chassis in combinations of two, three, four or
five in order to cover all Stereo and Home
Theater applications.
The result is an increadible line of power amps. |

1/300 Monoblock Amp |
| The same
design goals were extended to the new 1/300MB,
which uses the same amplifier module. Here the
chassis uses just one amplifier instead of five. |

| Especially
designed for those consumers who want the added
'flexibility' of mono block chassis, the 1/300MB
product makes perfect sense for those who just
want to add one more amp to an existing
system...or who want two amplifiers for listening
to two channel recordings...or who may want two
amplifiers for a really powerful rear speaker set
up...or who may want three amplifiers for a
dedicated 'front stage'...or - and the list can
go on and on. The 1/300MB is identical in every
respect to the 5/1500 except that on the 1/300MB
balanced XLR connectors are used for both input
and output. It can be 'linked' to the 'center'
channel of a 5/1500 and so allow for a six
channel set up, or in a 'bridged' format it
enables the formulation of three channels at 400
watts per channel into eight ohms or an awesome
600 watts into four ohms. |
